Research Scientist / Senior Research Scientist - Sorbent technologies

We are looking for a creative and skilled person with main competence in the development separation technologies utilizing solid sorbents. You must be able to document experience and ability to develop and execute dynamic mathematical models of solid adsorbents and reactors, preferably using gPROMS or COMSOL. It is preferable that you have some experience within materials science, specifically with powder materials that can act as solid sorbents for separation purposes in the gas or liquid phase. It is also preferable that you have some background with pressure swing adsorption processes and/or reactor design.

You must have a PhD degree. We are looking for either experienced or recently qualified persons. Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Development of dynamic mathematical models and simulation of sorbent based separation processes.
  • Performing or supervising experimental reactor testing activity in order to validate simulation results
  • Performing or supervising experimental analyses of sorption equilibria (isotherms) and sorption kinetics
  • Be active in project acquisition within the national and/or international research market and towards relevant industry
  • Build-up and maintenance of academic and industrial networks.

You will join the Research group of Sorbent Technology in Oslo, a research group composed of around 10 researchers and engineers having competence from synthetic organic chemistry, via inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry to chemical engineering. We work heavily in cooperation projects funded by the Norwegian Research Council or the European Commission (H2020). We cooperate with many groups, both national (UiO and NTNU) and international, with an aim to increase our relevance for Norwegian industry.
