Your challenges

As our new Senior Director Global Planning and Manufacturing Logistics, you will join our Global Logistics organization. You will head up the Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing Logistics function with a team of 4 direct reports at managerial level and a total organization of 33 indirect reports as well as dotted-line reference for Logistics Managers and their staff at manufacturing sites . The team is highly proficient in achieving our goals, and we are looking for someone who has the potential to make what is already great even better by further enhancing processes and output of Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing Logistics. You will be based at our offices in Kolding and report directly to Senior Vice President Global Logistics, and you will be part of the Global Logistics management team consisting of Senior Directors within global warehousing, market logistics and global order fulfillment.

As Senior Director Global Planning and Manufacturing Logistics, you will be responsible for and committed to ensuring high delivery performance through efficient end-to-end planning. You will ensure excellent global S&OP processes, balancing production levels and inventory levels with market demand, and you will make sure that we have the right manufacturing logistics setups with efficient planning of finished goods and components as well as purchasing of raw materials.

More specifically you will:

• Supervise, motivate, guide and set direction for the Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing Logistics team
• Define, plan and implement the strategy within your area and ensure alignment with overall strategic ambitions of the VELUX Group
• Create the work environment and conditions for your team to thrive, develop and perform
• Act as sparring partner to your team and foster team coherence and collaboration
• Define and implement optimal global VELUX processes for planning, procurement and logistics processes in factories
• Ensure optimization of inventory levels, logistics footprint and warehouse capacity
• Ensure upstream and downstream communication and manage key stakeholders such as Supply SVPs, Market directors in sales companies, local general managers, factory managers, global order fulfillment and global warehousing.

Your qualifications

To be successful in this role, we imagine that you hold a Master’s degree in operations management, supply chain or similarly relevant topic, which has provided you with the tools and processes to work systematically, methodically and analytically. Moreover, you are highly proficient in supply planning and SAP and we expect that you bring extensive and several years of experience in global supply chain management, global S&OP processes, network optimization and manufacturing logistics from a large, international corporation with a high level of complexity.

You are well-versed in the disciplines of leadership incl. people management, strategy planning and execution and you are known for your ability to build trusting and lasting relationships and operate in a complex and diverse stakeholder landscape. You are able to transform ideas into business opportunities and being the proficient communicator that you are, you can facilitate the change process that follows. You are proficient in communicating a clear and compelling purpose, and with your commitment to having a positive influence on others, you empower people to make decisions and take responsibility.

Additionally, you:

• Are an empathic, trusting people manager experienced in motivating, guiding and developing a team
• Set clear targets and priorities and monitor, track and proactively take corrective actions when needed
• Are characterized by your openness – to both people, ideas and changes
• Speak and write English at a professional level
