The Role & Department
We are seeking an innovation-focused Senior Software Engineer, specializing in Application Integration (R&D), to join our IT Research & Development Team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about crafting cloud-based software application integrations utilized by Genmab's R&D organization. The Senior Software Engineer will also play a key role in offering technical guidance for integrations within Product-oriented-delivery teams. They will collaborate with a team of architects and developers to ensure timely execution of PODs.

The successful candidate will actively support Research, Discovery, and Development activities, utilizing tools like Informatica iPaaS – Intelligent Cloud Integration Services as a hybrid integration platform. This platform will be employed to construct and deploy scalable, resilient applications. Responsible for fostering a cohesive digital IT R&D ecosystem, the Senior Software Engineer, Application Integration, will intricately connect systems and processes. This integration aims to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to the overall success of the R&D Organization.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Developand integrate software applications and systems used by the R&D Organization using enterprise-scale cloud integrations and provide solutions tailored for R&D functions such as Research Informatics, SDMS (Scientific Data Management System), Lab Management Systems, Lab and Data Integrations, Research Data products, Pathology, Imaging, Pharmacology, Development Operations etc
  • Assess existing infrastructure or solution architecture, identify requirements, and strategize how to implement R&D domain specific integrations effectively for R&D impacting systems and platforms such as AWS, CTMS, Genedata, Qliksense or other BI tools
  • Drive the adoption of the Enterprise-Integration-as-a-Service model for IT R&D functions, enable integration implementations through Informatica IICS, integrate apps and data using intelligent business processes spanning cloud and on-premises sources that eliminate spaghetti integrations and streamline integration flows for business agility
  • Leverage established integration patterns, re-use existing solutions when possible, optimizing efficiency, handle a broad range of software and programming tasks, ensuring functional system integrations, and collaborations through a secure and scalable platform​
  • Sound knowledge of the Data Integration and Application Integration modules of IICS and expertise with mass ingestion, data integration, data profiling, data quality, API manager and Integration Hub components for enabling robust data and application integration capabilities for efficient workflows enabled through integrations
  • Identify opportunities to use AI to streamline the lifecycle management of APIs from creation to retirement for driving productivity and efficiency in integration solutions delivered
  • Expert level proficiency in application integration for orchestrating business processes with knowledge of event-driven integration, service orchestration to co-ordinate services and APIs, process management, composite APIs to deliver user-friendly integrations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including colleagues from Data & Analytics, Data Science & AI and Infrastructure Platform Engineering teams, Technical Product Owners, Technical Delivery leads, developers, data engineers, visualization engineers, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, bioinformaticians, understand R&D domain-specific requirements and translate them into technical integrations
  • Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of the integration platform, adhering to best practices for integrations including GxP, GDPR and other regulatory compliance
  • Play a pivotal role in enabling integration solutions that span batch-data movement, data virtualization, data replication & synchronization (change data capture) for various sources and target within the R&D ecosystem at Genmab that serves to empower our scientists and researchers in R&D.

Requirements

  • Experience in Life Sciences, Biotech or Pharma industry is a must have
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and executing integrations, especially Integration Cloud component of IICS Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services. Expertise in application integration, cloud mapping design, data synchronization and replication (User-to-user, User-to-system, System-to-user, System-to-system) through integration best practices
  • Strong knowledge in APIs and web-services, RESTful APIs, SOAP, other web services protocols
  • Advanced level proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, JavaScript or similar
  • Knowledge of and experience with Databases (SQL, NoSQL) for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL or ELT)
  • Understanding of Biotechnology processes, data models, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with drug discovery, clinical trials, genomics, research and development workflows, data acquisition, analysis, and collaboration
  • Prior experience working with data science tools, operational systems using AI/ML, processing, and integrations for generative AI projects nice to have
  • Experience with Agile framework, DevSecOps processes, knowledge of cloud security and compliance
  • Excellent Communication skills, problem solving skills and technical expertise
  • Integration specific certifications such as Informatica Cloud Services Data and Application Integration certification, Certified SOA Integration Professional, Certified System Integration Specialist (IASA), Microsoft certified: Azure integration and Security, AWS certified DevOps Engineer, or similar is preferred
  • Certifications and experience in cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure or GCP are nice to have

This role can be located in Copenhagen (DK) or Utrecht (NL) or Princeton, NJ, (US) and is hybrid.
