Two-year postdoctoral researcher to work on the development of quantum chemical methods and algorithms for the prediction of molecular properties and spectra on hybrid classic-quantum hardware.
Within the research project Hybrid Quantum Chemistry on Hybrid Quantum Computers, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we have an opening for a two-year postdoctoral to work on the development of quantum chemical methods and algorithms for the prediction of molecular properties and spectra on hybrid classic-quantum architectures.

Responsibilities and qualifications

  • Development of Quantum Algorithms for Quantum Chemistry calculations of molecular properties and spectra on hybrid classic-quantum architectures. Dissemination of the results of the research in scientific articles and at conferences is an integral part of the postdoc’s responsibilities
  • Participation in the group meetings and activities of the NNF project “Hybrid Quantum Chemistry on Hybrid Quantum Computers”
  • A smaller amount of teaching activities in BSc or MSc courses at the Department of Chemistry, Technical University of Denmark

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in one of the following fields:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Computer Science
  • Quantum Information Science
  • Information Science

Additional Required Qualifications
At least one of the following additional qualifications is requires:

  • Documented experience on the development of quantum computing algorithms for quantum chemistry applications on NISQ quantum computers
  • Experience with quantum computing software libraries like IBM’s Qiskit or Pennylane

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The postdoctoral position is full-time and the period of employment is two years and starting August 1, 2024.

DTU Chemistry
