Equipment Responsible Engineers for daily operations or project teams

FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies

If you're looking to make a tangible impact and grow your career, FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies is the place to be. Right now, our site in Hillerød is buzzing with activity and it’s the perfect time to join us and contribute to something big.

As an Equipment Responsible Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in our daily operations within Upstream and Downstream processes, or you will contribute to our two ambitious expansion projects.

About us
In Hillerød, we're home to a vibrant mix of over 1600 colleagues from 65 different countries, all dedicated to making a difference for patients around the world and to establish us as the leading and most trusted global CDMO in the industry.

Right now, we're pushing into new territories and expanding our expertise in areas like engineering, process science, quality, and supply chain management. The addition of eight 20,000L bioreactors will make our facility the biggest end-to-end CDMO in Europe.

Our top priority is to have a workplace where everyone can openly discuss ideas, feel heard, and truly be themselves. This openness creates trust and not only makes our daily work enjoyable but also drives us to achieve great things together.

Collaboration and knowledge sharing are vital to our success, and our days are a great mix of professional discussions balanced with fun and laughter.

Your future team
Our Process Engineering teams are responsible for supporting process equipment throughout its entire lifecycle, from design and commissioning to daily operations and implementing changes for new process optimizations.

Our engineers make independent decisions based on thorough risk assessments, prioritizing safety, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Depending on your interests, you will focus on either supporting daily operations in our existing facility or driving strategic projects for our upcoming facilities. Despite being divided into separate teams, we work together as one unit, embodying the motto "One dream, one team."

About the roles
The overall responsibility of Process Engineering is to secure that the Upstream and Downstream manufacturing equipment (all our process equipment is large-scale stainless-steel equipment) is available for manufacturing when needed.

The tasks include systematic problem solving for troubleshooting activities, driving changes to the process equipment to improve robustness, and support our stakeholders during investigations. You will have your own area of responsibility but work closely together with the team as we have a strong sense of urgency and support each other every day regardless of individual responsibility.

What your responsibilities could look like
Whether you have preferences to work within the Upstream area, where fermentation and centrifugation processes are paramount or whether you prefer the Downstream area where purification processes including chromatography and filtration steps lie, we have multiple opportunities:

  • Provide engineering technical support and troubleshooting for either Upstream or Downstream process equipment.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement changes and/or improve existing processes.
  • Perform Engineering Subject Matter Expert assessments for deviation investigations.
  • To provide input and/or drive risk assessments as required
  • Support tech transfer activities of new processes from customers
  • To support Factory Acceptance Test / Site Acceptance Test (FAT/SAT), commissioning, validation, and qualification of new process equipment
  • Focus on operational robustness and cost efficiency in everyday work and processes. Drive, support, and perform assessments based on impact and effort for prioritization.
  • Provide training as needed to ensure production team understands equipment functionalities.
  • Communicate progress, status, and issues to stakeholders and upper management.
  • Participation in the engineering on-call program (on a rotational basis when equipment is taken into use)

Professional and personal qualifications

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree within Engineering or similar discipline within Life Science; alternatively, you hold a Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering
  • Experience working with equipment in a commercial GMP environment is a big advantage
  • Solid knowledge of stainless-steel process equipment
  • A hands-on approach to the process equipment
  • Enjoy working as part of a team but also possessing the confidence to work independently.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • Curiosity and strong sense of urgency
  • Strong personal drive, self-motivating and result-oriented
  • You approach people with openness and positive energy

To achieve our goals and high ambitions together, we must consistently deliver high quality products, which requires constant improvement in our approach. Prioritizing and making the right decisions are equally important. Additionally, maintaining a daily focus on safety, quality, and efficient delivery is at the core of your responsibilities.

If you can see yourself in a rapidly growing organization where we set teams over hierarchy and where tomorrow’s agenda is hard to predict, then you might be the candidate we're looking for.

In return, we offer you a job full of responsibility and an attractive salary package with bonus schemes, private health insurance, access to our own fitness center and massage therapist on-site, and not to mention a fantastic canteen. We're committed to being a great place to work by always putting people first and ensuring an engaging and evolving working environment.

Your application
If this sounds like the opportunity for you, we encourage you to upload your resume with a motivational letter in English no later than June 9, 2024. We'll be conducting interviews on an ongoing basis.

Please indicate your preferred area in your application.
