Director, Global Strategic Marketing

Asked to establish and run a global strategic marketing function as well as take on responsibility for marketing in SimCorp's largest growth region, North America.

The remit for the Solutions marketing department consists of creating and curating thought leadership and product related content targeted toward SImCorp's core prospect base (obtainable market). Three direct reports based in the UK and Asia.

For North America, the remit is to institute account-based marketing (ABM), support SimCorp's participation in industry events, and in general generate awareness/increase engagement among target prospects. Two direct reports based in New York and Boston.

Key results:
• With improved processes, increased number of “highly engaged” prospects by 3X in 2023.
• With flat headcount/budget, increased quantifiable engagement scoring by 40% versus 2022; content deliverables (number of articles/reports/client stories) up 30%, website views up 45%.
• Superior lead quality- tripling in conversion rate from marketing leads to sales leads in 2023.
• Employee satisfaction ratings up substantially since assuming responsibility for Global Marketing. 14/15 factors measured above the company benchmark (9/15 before my arrival).

Built and led a product management/marketing function for a suite of products and services ( = stakeholder management, partner management, pricing/licensing frameworks, business cases, product innovation, feature prioritization, roadmaps, governance, release and launch). The collective portfolio had annual revenue in the triple digit DKK millions and achieved the highest NPS ratings in the entire KMD Group in my last year.

Handle various marketing, pricing and strategic initiatives for one of Denmark's largest publicly traded companies, concentrating on financial technology (fintech). Maximum performance ratings ("exceeds expectations"?) for business acumen and impact five years in a row. Key duties, accomplishments and recognitions include:

  • Responsible for marketing themes, primary/secondary research and marketing strategy worldwide. Includes overall messaging & positioning frameworks

  • -Asked by two C-level executives to lead three pricing and licensing projects, one of which fundamentally altered how the company does business and presents its product brand. In each case, the Steering Committee consisted of the company's C-Suite. Gained invaluable insight into project leadership, stakeholder management and change management on a global scale.

  • Establishing and running competitive intelligence, market intelligence and independent win/loss functions, none of which existed prior to my joining the company. Credited with providing strategic insight and the "tipping point"? to win several deals amounting to millions of Euro.

  • - Drafted several thought leadership papers and articles that were consistently among the most popular content downloads on the corporate website (simcorp.com). Cited in Wall Street Journal, CNN & Bloomberg TV.
